My story with Mexico began long before I called it home. Growing up, my family traveled extensively throughout the USA and Mexico – by camper, motorhome, and plane. We explored major attractions and, more importantly, connected with people everywhere we went. That love for adventure and cultural connection is something I carried into my own family life.

Raised near the Canadian Rockies, I thrived on an active lifestyle – skiing, camping, hiking, and scuba diving. My career path took diverse turns: from studying Business, Law, and Accounting (and even dabbling in early programming!), to managing a computer center in Vancouver helping businesses modernize, and later, working as a coal miner back in my hometown while raising my family. Along the way, I built significant real estate experience in Edmonton and became deeply involved in property investment – buying, renovating, and managing rentals.

But the call of Mexico remained. While travel was a passion, I craved authenticity beyond the high-priced resorts. My search led me to Lake Chapala. Instantly, I knew this was different: a vibrant, welcoming community where English is common, nestled near Guadalajara's international airport. Here, you find an incredible blend of affordable living, top-tier medical and dental care, perfect climate, rich culture, delicious food, and endlessly friendly people – all the essentials for a fulfilling life, whether visiting or settling down.
